Amp Up Your Circuit Protection - and Reduce Fleet Vehicle Downtime
Running a fleet isn't cheap. When asked to list some of the top costs, many people would likely name fuel, oil, or tires. However one major cost that some do not even consider is fleet downtime. With the high cost of purchasing and maintaining fleet vehicles, every hour or day they are out of commission equals profits lost. In a 2015 survey conducted by Decisiv, a fleet management software company, fleets reported that downtime cost them an average of $448 to $760 a day, per vehicle.
Electrical system problems is a common cause of downtime and service calls for fleet vehicles, with blown fuses being one of the most common types. Modern applications require more power than ever before, which can overload circuits.
As technology advances, the demand for high amperage circuit protection only increases. To support these applications, we're proud to announce we now carry the Series 17 Thermal Circuit Breakers by Mechanical Products (MP) in high amp options of up to 300A.
This is a groundbreaking new development for the industry, as past 12-volt circuit protection typically capped at 150A.
For use in critical vehicle applications, these new 12-volt, high amperage circuit breakers by MP provide an alternative replacement to high-amperage fuses and circuit breakers used in parallel; this reduces footprint size and cost, potential vehicle downtime and expensive service calls.
The perfect pairing for any application utilizing high amp fuses and fuse holders, such as converters, power inverters, and battery isolators, these hi amp circuit breakers are ideal for many different types of service body and work trucks, fire trucks and emergency vehicles, as well as some boats and heavy machinery, such as cranes & hoists.
One notable feature of the the Series 17 is the large, 3/8" Stainless Steel Studs, which allow accomodation of larger wire lug sizes for increased wire termination retention.
Proudly made in the USA, the Series 17 Thermal Circuit Breakers by Mechanical Products features:
- Amperage ratings from 25A to 300A (for automatic reset; manual option up to 250A)
- IP67 rating (dustproof & waterproof)
