June 2019 – Low Power Automotive Relays exempt from China tariffs until June 4th, 2020
Effective June 4, 2019 low power automotive relays manufactured in China have been exempted from the 25% tariff until June 4, 2020. We have lowered the pricing on the affected relays to reflect the lower costs associated with this exemption. If the exemption expires on June 4, 2020 and the tariffs are reintroduced, we will adjust our pricing accordingly at that time.
July 2018 – Implementation of China tariffs
Beginning July 6, 2018 recently passed updates to the U.S Trade Representative Section 301 applies a 25% tariff increase on certain product lines originating from China. Additional products may be subject to the same tariff increase beginning this fall. We’re aware of the significant impact these tariffs are having across the industry and will continue to monitor and communicate the impact it may have on our customers and suppliers.
As most of Waytek’s products are sourced from the United States, we expect minimal impact by the new tariff on our customers. However, Waytek will pass along 100% of the tariff increases beginning on the effective date of July 6, 2018. These increases will remain in effect for the foreseeable future.
We appreciate your continued support and business. We’ll ensure to provide updates to this policy as new information becomes available.
